I offer therapy that begins with presence—an honest, compassionate space where you are fully seen and heard.
In this space, something quiet but powerful can begin: trust. And with trust comes safety, and with safety, the courage to be vulnerable. To speak freely about what may have long been unsaid, supressed or hidden.
My work is rooted in person-centred values and a deep respect for your uniqueness. I integrate reflection, relational insight, and elements of shadow work to help you explore what lies beneath your pain, and in the process, help you to make sense of what troubles you.
It’s not always an easy process. But it is real. It can lead to a deeper awareness of yourself, to explore the whats? whys? and hows? that may be causing you pain right now, and to move forward.
I work with adults, children and young people who are navigating emotional pain, relationship difficulties, loss, anxiety and trauma. While rooted in the values of person-centred counselling, my approach also gently weaves in existential reflection, and an intuitive understanding of unconscious/implicit patterns. Together we explore not only the current struggles, but also the stories and internalised voices that may have shaped them.
This is not about fixing you. It’s about understanding what’s been carried—and rediscovering the self beneath it all. The work is calm, paced, and always grounded in the healing potential of the therapeutic relationship.
Oh, and I have a sense of humour. I am myself in the therapeutic relationship, and humour has played a huge part in me overcoming my own challenges. So, if smiling at sorrow and working towards a life without fear is for you, get in touch. If that's not for you, there are many great counsellors and therapists out there. The therapeutic relationship is crucial, and finding the right counsellor you can connect with is vital to help you heal.
Kindest wishes,
Jim
